Frequently Asked Questions

  • How can SCAN promote my events in Scotland?

One of the many benefits of being a SCAN member is being able to post your events and other activities in our What’s On section. Once they’re online, we’ll also share them on social media and via our monthly newsletter.

All you have to do is log in to your account using your username and password to update your profile, and post events and opportunities.

  • Will SCAN fund my project?

We’re not a funding body, but we’re here to connect you with others working in contemporary visual arts. If you’d like to share ideas, find collaborators and keep an eye on opportunities, visit our members page.

  • Can I join SCAN?

Our membership is growing all the time, with everyone from artists to gallery directors, technicians to curators. Whether you already work in contemporary visual art or are a recent graduate trying to find a foothold in the sector, joining SCAN is a great way to become part of a growing community of voices. We’d love to hear from you.

  • What are you campaigning on at the moment?

SCAN’s core is our advocacy work, which runs through all of our projects and day-to-day work with politicians, funders and partners from across the cultural spectrum. Read our news to find out what we’ve been up to lately, and our policy and resources section for a deeper dive.
