Hospitalfield Open Weekend
27 March 2015 until 29 March 2015
This Open Weekend sees the culmination of The Arbroath Template by the artist Bob and Roberta Smith, a project about making and sharing inspiring images, which includes contributions by artists, students and young people from across the UK. Over 20 artists will be presenting new artwork, readings and workshops in the spirit of protest and celebration.
We invite you to dip in or stay for the day.
Friday 27 March, 6.30 – 8.30pm: Evening event. Free, but please book online
You are invited to join us in the opportunity to meet the artists as they gather for the first time on the evening of Friday 27 March and start to talk about their projects which will unfold over the weekend.
Everyone will be invited to take part in a series of quick-fire intros, speed dating style, so that the audience and artists all get to know each other.
Bob and Roberta Smith will also present a short introductory Public Lecture during the Friday event to set the scene for The Arbroath Template.
This event is free but please book a place as the numbers are limited.
Saturday 28 March, 11am – 5pm: Daytime events including tours, artist’s performances and bookable workshops – come along to play ‘tones of blue’ snap with Rosie Scott, collage with Yokollection and make placard or posters in a workshop with Lydia Brownlee.
PLUS: V and A Dundee Design in Motion exhibition on the Travelling Gallery.
Saturday 28 March, 11am – 12.30pm. Morning poster making session led by designer and artist Lydia Brownlee and others.
Please join us for an intensive workshop making placard and posters together thinking about beauty, DIY design, multiples and getting your message across, all in the spirit of protest and celebration with The Arbroath Template.
