A published writer for publications including The Guardian, Arts Professional and a-n, and a researcher and consultant on contemporary visual arts matters, Susan Jones holds an in-depth knowledge of artists’ livelihoods, professional development and employment patterns, the value of the artist-led and socially-engaged-based practice and the impact of artists within the arts ecology. She is currently undertaking a PhD within MIRIAD, Manchester School of Art which by addressing the inter-relationship between arts policy and artists’ livelihoods, aims to produce a rationale and practical model of the environments conducive to fostering the talents of visual artists.
