An acrylic landscape painting of Arran, with a mountain in the background and some boats in the sea. There is a field of flowers. There is text on the image that gives the exhibition name, dates and reception time.

Our first exhibition of the year features artwork by Andrew McMillan, Cameron Morgan and Scott Smith.

Andrew’s work focuses on his travels abroad on holiday, visiting places like Rome, but also on other potential destinations that he might yet be to see.

Scott’s paintings explore his connection to Arran, where he grew up. Much of the acrylic work showcases a different view of the Scottish island, with the mountains and the sea included in the frame.

Cameron’s ceramic and embroidery pieces reflect his current passion of exploring photography and cameras through other mediums. He has glazed, fired and stitched cameras from different points in time.

At the exhibition, one can imagine that Andrew and Scott’s landscape paintings were captured by Cameron’s ceramic cameras.

All three artists attend the Aspire studios for people with learning disabilities. During their time here, they have developed their artistic practice and bonds with other artists, tutors and volunteers. Cameron Morgan has exhibited widely in this country and overseas and his work is in the collection of the National Galleries of Scotland. Scott Smith is a frequent exhibitor in our gallery in Trongate 103 and is widely collected. Andrew McMillan is a relative newcomer to Project Ability and this is his major exhibition.

The reception will include refreshments and artists talks.
