Frank Pottinger: Landscape Plotted and Pieced

The Academicians’ Gallery is pleased to present Landscapes Plotted and Pieced, an exhibition of work by Frank Pottinger RSA (1932 – 2022), a renowned sculptor and printmaker.

Born in Edinburgh, Frank studied sculpture at Edinburgh College of Art. Later, he began teaching in Edinburgh and Fife and lectured in Art at Aberdeen College of Education. As a full-time artist, he concentrated on large wooden abstract sculptures, ceramic pieces and constructed prints.

Frank exhibited throughout the UK including the Richard Demarco Gallery: the Compass Gallery; the Huntarian Museum; Aberdeen Art Gallery; Peterloo Gallery, Manchester; Camden Arts Centre; the Yorkshire Sculpture Park and in 1981 the major Sculpture Open at Kildrummy Castle near Lumsden.
