Scottish Sculpture Workshop offers an exciting variety of courses in metalwork and ceramics, based out of our workshops in rural Aberdeenshire.

Our courses are open to all levels of ability and experience – beginners are very welcome here at Scottish Sculpture Workshop as well as those who want to build on existing skills or try something new.

Introduction to Blacksmithing dates: 16 April 2022, 28 May 2022, 3 September 2022, 4 March 2023

A one day course offering an introduction to the basic technical aspects of blacksmithing. Participants will learn how to make a fire poker from a piece of mild steel square bar which they can take away with them at the end of the day. Through making the poker, participants will be introduced to a diverse range of blacksmithing techniques including drawing out, hammering and bending as well as how to use and regulate a forge.
