Explore the artistry of papermaking in this hands-on workshop led by Lin Chau. Begin your creative journey by drawing inspiration from the works of Bet Low, featured in the exhibition Bet Low: An Island On Your Doorstep. You’ll then delve into the papermaking process, starting with traditional techniques using deckles and frames, before experimenting with coloured pulp to create your own unique designs. This introductory workshop provides a relaxing and creative opportunity to explore this versatile art form. By the end of the session, you’ll have your own handmade paper pieces to take home. Perfect for beginners and anyone curious about the art of papermaking.

Lin Chau is a multidisciplinary artist based in Scotland. Much of her recent work is concerned with displacement and the passing of time. In addition to drawing as the core of her practice, Chau works with a variety of media from installation to printmaking, continually exploring new creative techniques that invite viewers to consider diverse ways of looking at the interaction of places and landscapes. Chau graduated with a Master of Letters in Fine Art Practice from Sculpture & Environmental Art and a Bachelor of Fine Art (Hons) from The Glasgow School of Art. Her works have been exhibited widely in the UK and internationally.
