Mon, 19 October 2020 - Sat, 31 July 2021
3 sessions (various dates)
Gaada - Da Auld Methodist Kirk, Burra Isle, Shetland, ZE2 9LD
Gaada invites Shetland based artists to apply to Peer Group: a new series of mutually supportive group sessions to share, discuss, and develop your work.
Peer Group is an artist-led initiative to encourage open dialogue and sharing within Shetland’s art community. Gaada’s aim is to build a supportive network that will continue to grow beyond the initial programme.
Each group will meet for three sessions, compromising of a Q&A from an invited artist (via Zoom), a group workshare and an idea development session. There will be frequent opportunities to share, discuss and gain feedback on your current work +/ research.
All groups will take place in the Gaada Workshop in Burra from 11am – 2pm on the following Saturdays:
Group 1: 7th November, 21st November, and 5th December 2020
Group 2: 9th January, 23rd January and 6th February 2021
Group 3: 20th February, 6th March and 20th March 2021
Group 4: 17th April, 1st May and 15th May 2021
The groups are limited to 6 people so that we can safely social distance in the Gaada Workshop. The format of the sessions are subject to change due to the government’s Covid 19 restrictions. You will need to wear a mask, unless you have an exemption.
How to Apply
Applications are open to anyone aged 18+ based in Shetland with a creative practice or interest. We welcome applications from both professional artists + also people who make art in their spare time. You do not need any formal art experience to apply for this opportunity, and we particularly encourage applications from individuals who have previously experienced barriers accessing creative opportunities.
