Clip from Cáit O’Neill McCullagh’s New Connections Across the Northern Isles Project
Join us for the final event of The Earth Writes Back to enjoy film screening and poetry written by attendees of the eco poetry workshops
Film Screenings 11am-1pm
We will present a selection of films part of the “New Connections Across the Northern Isles project” by Cáit O’Neill McCullagh. The short films capture how Orkney and Shetland’s inhabitants curate their cultural expressions of maritime life and the implications for sustainability. Exploring the historic and contemporary maritime through place-based wisdom sharing, wooden boat craftsmanship, and sailing, the films reflect on the geopolitical significance of these archipelagos.
Poetry Picnic from 1pm
Come along and enjoy ethically and locally sourced food while listening to poetry written over the ecopoetry workshops. In case of unfavourable weather, the picnic will be moved indoors within the building.
Cost £7pp. £5 for Community Card holders
