Clip of Cáit O’Neill McCullagh’s New Connections Across the Northern Isles Project

Cáit O’Neill McCullagh returns to Timespan to lead The Earth Writes Back: a series of three workshops on Wednesday 13th, 20th, 27th September at 11 am exploring eco-poetry writing.

Participants will develop an understanding of the concepts of eco-poetry: a literary form with a focus on ecology and sustainability, that will be used to imagine dialogues between people and our planet.

The workshops will depart from Helmsdale’s territory, with a focus on the foot of the Illidh, to support participants in developing an understanding of the concept of eco-poetics. The free workshops will guide poets of any level to practice writing in diverse poetic forms, acquire tools for editing their work, learn about presenting their poems on the page, and as spoken word performances.

The outcomes of the workshops will be presented on Saturday 30th over the Earth Writes Back Picnic part of Highland and Islands Climate Festival.
