A space in-between #3: Hear, Here

26 June 2020 until 28 August 2020
Cooper Gallery, Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design

In the cacophony of this ongoing moment, this space in-between, there are sounds, indeed voices who take imagination as an insurrectionary act. In their utterance, the ‘prose of the world’* is turned inside out.

Cooper Gallery have commissioned artists Anne Bean and Nicol Parkinson, Anne-Marie Copestake, Tina Krekels, Georgina Starr and Viola Yeşiltaç to make new sound works in response to this between-space.

These new works make audible places near and far, wading into rivers, feet clicking on pavements, looking out the window, being alone in dark rooms, and ignoring the noise of loudspeakers. The artists’ works draw attention to the vivid immediacy of where we are, with each other and with the world in all its concrete particularity.

Artists works available to stream via Cooper Gallery’s ‘A space in-between’ website: https://sites.dundee.ac.uk/cooper-gallery-inbetween/
