Performance artist Gordon Douglas has been working with CCA since May 2018 towards a ‘performative audit’ of our open source policy, a policy offering free and temporary use of many of the organisation’s spaces and facilities. Since December, he has been working with artist Ash Reid towards understanding noise-proofing and temporary use through a series of devised performances in CCA Glasgow and Kunsthal Gent.
An Opposites Programme proposes to be a retrospectively organised programme that recognises the incidental occurrences which maintain and define the many spaces of the CCA. Although not encompassing all the activity that has occurred throughout this time, a single public event on June 16th will draw this study by artists Gordon Douglas and Ash Reid to a close. In a performance coordinated by Gordon, existing technologies will be re-purposed to host noise and messages, transmitted from a re-staged Artist Flat in the Theatre.
