Art Class: Life Drawing
27 October 2019 until 1 December 2019
Studio Pavilion at House for an Art Lover
Join us for this 6-week course where we will be depicting the human form using a range of materials; looking at line, tone, proportions, colour and form. In a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, participants will be given demonstrations on how to approach their drawing, several exercises for developing their observational skills, as well as feedback on their progress. This course is suitable for those new to drawing as well as those with more experience.
NB The price is costed higher than other similar classes as we employ a life model as well as an artist facilitator for the sessions.
Participants will improve their understanding of space, depth and volume, dark and light, developing their observational drawing skills. They will gain confidence and the ability to depict not just the human form, but subjects in general.
Introductions, materials, measuring proportions, line and tone using charcoal.
Tone using charcoal and erasers.
Introduction of colour using soft pastels.
Week 4 – 6: To be decided by the participants and tutor, depending on the needs of the group.
