Artists' Spread: Restaurant Opening
19:00 on 12 August 2018
The Project Cafe
Have you ever seen an artwork and wondered about the person who made it? How much time and effort it took to create? Whether they even earn enough from their art to make ends meet?
Artists’ Spread is a pop-up restaurant with a difference. It is run entirely by practicing artists who hold down other jobs in the hospitality industry, and seeks to create a unique and unexpected dining experience. Artists Angeli Bhose, David Fagan, EIlidh McKay, Robert Thomas James Mills, Stuart Noble, Ameena Nur and Emma Rogers will not only be running the restaurant but have also created exclusive artworks for the event that will be incorporated into the dining service in surprising and fun ways. Artists’ Spread seeks to not only open up questions around the sustainability of artistic careers and the financial vulnerability of artists, but to provide potential answers and solutions.
For some fantastic grub and a one-of-a-kind art experience both delicious and thought-provoking, the one-night-only opening on Sunday 12 August at Glasgow’s Project Café is not to be missed! Reserve your seat at the table now by searching for ‘Artists’ Spread’ on Event Brite or by visiting: https://tinyurl.com/yaaguc4y
Attendees will receive 2 soft drinks/hot beverages, a 3 course vegetarian meal and artwork to take away, all devised and created by the participating artists.
We will be in touch when the full menu is announced to ask for your orders in advance of the event. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to confirm any allergen or dietary requirements when booking so that we may prepare the menu accordingly.
Project Cafe has no alcohol license. 2 soft drinks/hot beverages will be provided as part of your ticket however you may BYOB with a corkage cost of £3. We are currently trying to source sponsorship in order to provide a free alcoholic drink or two… Keep you posted!
Artists’ Spread has been made possible with thanks to the kind contributions and support of the following:
The Project Café, a thriving Community Interest Company founded on good food bringing people together. We exist as a cafe during the day with a menu based on the local vegetables and organic produce that Scotland offers us seasonally and in the evenings the space is open to the community as accessible and adaptable event space.
