Clay Portraiture with Tim Sandys

Saturdays | 1030 – 1600

2nd, 9th, 16th & 23rd March

Clay Portraiture is a practical introduction to representing the human head in clay. Over four Saturdays, participants will be introduced to the fundamentals of defining facial form, as well as the measuring, modelling and refining of clay portraiture. Working from a model and with instruction in a variety of sculptural techniques, this hands-on course is suitable for beginners and the experienced.

From a background in psychology and healthcare, Tim Sandys returned to full time-education to study fine art at Dundee’s Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design followed by the MFA programme at the Glasgow School of Art. Currently, Tim’s practice involves itself in the trappings of societal norms and civilian infrastructure, using actions, interventions, drawings, film, sound pieces and dominantly sculpture to identify and exploit their points of strain.
