16:30 on 23 April 2016
CCA, Glasgow
The international public programme of Curatorial Studio continues with Mihnea Mircan, making his first visit to Scotland. This events are free, but ticketed.
Mircan presents a screening programme of material related to his recent curatorial work that explores anachronistic or allegorical figures which erode distinctions between the mythological and the rational, the ‘primitive’ and the ‘scientific’, ‘the contemporary’ and that which precedes it. Mircan was the artistic director of Extra City Kunsthal, Antwerp between 2011-15 and has curated exhibitions at institutions including the National Museum of Contemporary Art, Bucharest; Museion, Bolzano; Stroom, Den Haag; Spinnerei, Leipzig; David Roberts Art Foundation, London; Fondation Ricard, Paris; Project Art Center, Dublin; and the Venice Biennale, as curator of the Romanian Pavilion in 2007.
