Digital Photographic Practice
28 March 2020 until 29 March 2020
Stills: Centre for Photography
Learn how to further your digital photographic capabilities through various different exercises, then put these skills to the test by working on a specific project, which you will edit into a final piece of work.
Day 1 – Building visual narratives. We’ll begin by looking at example artworks, covering exposure and digital camera modes and talking through different techniques that photographers use and why. Then take a walk outside for a practical afternoon thinking about project ideas and looking at why we might use different camera modes depending on specific project needs.
Day 2 – Begin the day troubleshooting our project ideas and going over any technical questions. The bulk of the day will be spent with individuals working on their projects, with help and guidance from the tutor. We’ll end the day looking at sequencing and possible production outcomes such as books, blogs etc. Finally each participant will produce 3 inkjet prints and discuss their project with the group.
If you already have a photographic project in mind, this is a great opportunity to receive help and feedback from our experienced tutor. You’re also very welcome to come along with no ideas in mind and you will have the chance to develop and create a project from scratch!
Courses are open to all individuals aged 16 and over. We cannot accept bookings for participants under this age.
