Evening Woodengraving Class
23 April 2020 until 28 May 2020
Highland Print Studio
Wood Engraving (Beginners/Refreshers)
Wood engraving is one of the relief printing techniques, meaning that the ink is carried on the surface of the printing block, and not in the cuts or recesses. Learn how to use fine cutting tools such as Spitstickers or Lozenge Gravers, to create intricate images on beautiful wooden blocks. These are end grain blocks (the tree cut horizontally) unlike the side grain of woodcut. An engrossing and captivating technique – dangerously addictive.
