Acts for placing woollen and linen⁣
21 March –15 June 2020

Our 2020 programme launches this March with ‘Acts for placing woollen and linen’, an exhibition by American artist Helen Mirra.⁣

The exhibition will open with ‘Standard Incomparable’, a project of international scope brought together in 2015 by Mirra and comprising a temporary collection of weavings made by weavers from 17 countries and all born between 1949 and 2009.⁣

Over the final three weeks of the exhibition, the weavings will be taken down one-by-one and walked from our building by participants (both local and from further afield), who will find places in the surrounding landscape to leave them. This ‘decremental’ process will constitute a new work by Mirra called ‘Acts for placing woollen and linen.⁣’
