Featured Artist: Marion Ferguson
Exhibition Runs: 06 July – 29 July 2018

Marion Ferguson’s work examines the landscape tradition via printmaking and other media. Her work uses various print techniques to record a terrain, often using the rectilinear form of the soft ground etching process to record the ground under her feet.

Based in the Scottish landscape in particular, Ferguson’s work focuses on the very real connection with landscape that shapes, informs and inspires us and the connection between national and personal identity related to landscape and a “sense of belonging”.

Her investigation of the indexical quality of print, and it’s ability to hold an impression, trace or memory of the ‘real world’ forms the basis of these works.

Exhibitions include: Exquisite Offerings, Glasgow International 2018, Glasgow Project Rooms (2018), Between Preservation and Immanent Decay, group show with Belinda Gilbert-Scott, Ruth Switalski and Jennifer Wicks, Glasgow International 2018, Laurieston Arches (2018); Glasgow In September dawns I hardly breathe, collaboration with Jennifer R.Wicks, The Pipe Factory, Glasgow, Scotland (2017), Hidden Door, The Old Leith Theatre, Edinburgh, Scotland (2017); A Disturbance of Memory with Jennifer R.
