Jimmy Cosgrove: Looking for signs: Ideas and Imagined Circumstances
28 July 2018 until 16 September 2018
A solo exhibition by Scottish artist Jimmy Cosgrove in which he presents new work with a selection of past works spanning some fifty years of a vibrant career in the visual arts and design.
The exhibition provides an overdue and intimate insight into the diversity of Cosgrove’s practice and introduces audiences to his themes and styles: process; materials; and techniques. Populated by a selection of sketchbooks; travel diaries; screen-printed textiles; posters; photographs; drawings; paintings; collage and text, the exhibition will familiarise audiences with Cosgrove’s keen observation of people and places encountered and re-imagined through a personal lens of spontaneous and constructed narratives that reflect immense curiosity in the exploration of his ideas.
Exhibition runs 28 July – 16 September 2018
Gallery open Tuesday – Sunday 11am – 4pm
