May Morris Curator Lunchtime Talk
13:00 on 26 November 2019
Designer, artisan, jeweller, and editor, May Morris was far more than just the daughter of William Morris.
Be among the first to see May Morris Art & Life, and join May Morris expert Rowan Bain from The William Morris Gallery, to hear about May’s extraordinary life and career including how she took charge of the embroidery department of Morris & Co from the age of 23, working to preserve her father’s legacy.
Responsible for creating some of the company’s most iconic textiles and designs, May was also the founder of the Women’s Guild of Arts and was a key female force behind the Arts and Crafts movement.
