Outskirts Festival 2019
15:30 on 27 April 2019
Platform, The Bridge, 1000 Westerhouse Road, Easterhouse
Platform’s annual Outskirts festival returns on Saturday 27th April with an unbeatable mix of visual art, music and performance. Running across the theatre, studio spaces, and public areas of The Bridge, Easterhouse, the festival merges from afternoon into the evening with a packed programme of 30 artists performing a wide range of work.
Matt Addicott, Performance Programmer at Platform said: “2019 marks our eighth year of Outskirts and we’re proud to be bringing another fantastic event to people in and around Glasgow. The programme is packed with quality, we have lots of brand new pieces being shown for the first time and the chance to take in a wide range of art forms all in one day.
“Highlights include a new collaboration from Free Love and Eilidh Rodgers of Sacred Paws, Shaking the Habitual a stunning production from our very own Platform Young Company, surrogate productions’ UK premiere of The Guitar Man by Jon Fosse with original music from Hanna Tuulikki, Lucy and Addrian Hutson’s playful and tender show Bi-Curious George and Other Side Kicks and Timefield – a new immersive art installation, part of Luminate 2019, that weaves together stories of memory and forgetting, of nature and ageing”.
There will be food in the shape of a pop up from Glasgow east’s Dennistoun Bar-B-Que with their renowned meats, handmade burgers and breads, and the Platform café bar will be serving food and drinks throughout the event.
Platform is running a return bus (at 3pm) from Mono, Kings Court, Glasgow City Centre, to Outskirts. Please pre book to ensure a space – either purchase your £5 ticket from Mono in person or email firstname.lastname@example.org
