Running alongside Home Where Home Is Not is a performative talk by Julia Lee Barclay Morton. The talk starts at Platform and finishes at Glasgow Women’s Library (a bus is provided between venues).

Home Where Home Is Not is an ambitious exhibition by Glasgow-based artists Sogol Mabadi and Birthe Jorgensen re-imagining fixed notions of home, and what it means to be of more than one place. After research and group work with women connected to Platform and Glasgow Women’s Library, this exhibition of new works includes installations, wood-carved sculptures and sound works, and will stretch across both sites in Glasgow’s East End.

Through Home Where Home Is Not a space is opened up for performances which explore different languages. These performances appear, sometimes as a cut up flood of stories and other times as non-verbal forms of communication, as traces in the exhibition. This event will consider performance as it plays out in the two exhibition sites with writer and director Julia Lee Barclay-Morton whose theatrical lab’s and open scripts offers the possibility of embodying the many voices and ideas that exist inside of any/body and can embrace/embody/hold space for the unspeakable.

The event will begin at Platform and finish at Glasgow Women’s Library. (A bus been venues is provided).

Julia Lee Barclay-Morton is an award-winning writer and director, whose prose and plays have been produced and published internationally. Her most recent stage-text On the edge of/a cure was produced by Rogue Players as a staged reading at The Playroom in NYC.

This event is free but ticketed. Please book tickets to events via the Platform website – www.platform-online.co.uk
