SCAN Summit 2018
10:15 on 29 March 2018
Scottish Storytelling Centre
SCAN recently launched our Manifesto for the Visual Arts along with partners Scottish Artists Union and “Engage Scotland” . This day aims to build a consensus around Manifesto priorities and explore ideas around resilience, equalities, labour and fair pay in the contemporary visual arts.
How can we turn these pledges into positive change? What role can the SCAN network play? And how can we learn from others who have practical experience of making change?
With keynote addresses from Andrea Phillips, BALTIC Professor and Director of the BxNU (Baltic x Northumbria University) Institute, and Human Rights Campaigner Amal Azzudin, this day of conversation will bring together ongoing debates in our sector with the urgent implications of the current funding context. Janet Archer, CEO of Creative Scotland, will join us to participate in a facilitated conversation around 4.30pm
This event is free, lunch and refreshments will be provided.
10.30 – 11.00 SCAN AGM (members only)
11.00 – 17.45 SCAN Summit (open to all)
17.45 – 18.45 Drinks
A limited number of travel bursaries available will be available on application. You can send a confidential email to email@example.com with a note of your travel costs. Priority will be given to freelancers and those out with the central belt.
