Shaping the Void
30 September 2017 until 4 November 2017
Orkney
Louise Barrington’s work has an essentially abstract subliminal character, taking visual elements – form, line, pattern and colour and transforming them in a poetic way.
Louise added “Through the use of light and shadow I explore the energy between static objects, the thoughts, movements, breaths, ideas, that can shape the void into a responsive space that can hold a fleeting observation, experience or sensation.“
Louise Barrington completed a BA in Textile Design at Central Saint Martin’s School of Art, London, and an MFA at the Slade School of Fine Art, London. More recently she received a Postgraduate Diploma in Island Studies at the Centre for Nordic Studies, part of the University of the Highlands and Islands.
