Street Level Photoworks
Street Level invites you to a participate in a Teachers’ Photography Day focusing on contemporary Scottish photography and to discuss Street Level’s role in supporting the delivery of the new Higher Photography qualification.
Street Level Photoworks is a leading photography arts organisation based in Glasgow that provides artists and the public with a range of opportunities to make and engage with photography. It is a gallery and an open access photographic production facility.
Aims of the day
With the increasing interest in photography in secondary schools in Scotland, this event is designed to give teachers a greater insight into the factors which influence photographic practice within a Scottish context. Street Level are keen to form partnerships with schools with a view to offering online resources and bespoke workshops for pupils and teachers.
Two leading practitioners, Jeremy Sutton-Hibbert and Arpita Shah will share their creative and technical experiences of fine art / documentary / reportage photography. Both adopt contrasting styles and approaches in their work covering themes such as identity, migration, travel, religion, culture and environmental issues.
