The Lonely Arts Club presents : Lazy Susan's Last Meal
18:00 on 20 October 2018
The Old School, Bridgeton
Lazy Susan’s Last meal
The Lonely Arts Club presents #1 the debut dining event hosted by Studio Mama. Lazy Susan has been given the death sentence – come and celebrate by bringing the ‘Last Meal’ of your choice and share it on a spinning plate with every artist in Glasgow.
If you’re a Glasgow-based artist you’ve probably shared the frustration in noticing you hardly ever meet other artists from different studios – even neighbouring ones.
You are invited to The Old School on Dornoch Street to rectify this problem- a unique event with the purpose of connecting all the artists in studios in Glasgow. This is a chance to connect the art scene (including musicians, designers, curators, art spaces etc) by sharing food and swapping ideas on how to change the current dismal state of affairs in this city of zero-creative-funding, yet filled with talented & driven creatives.
Want to discuss a plan to become more interconnected? the repercussions on our mental health? How to find survival alternatives in teaming up? Or simply get to know other artists in a similar boat in Glasgow? Then come and share food and BYOB whilst meeting potential collaborators/useful contacts/new pals.
Bring a dish of your choice to place on the Lazy Susans provided, meet and invite all of those invested in the creative sector in order to create a potential network of support – starting the ball rolling with a plan of action on how to have our voices heard.
Save the date and come forward if you’d like to present ideas/collate a discussion panel if the aforementioned peaks your interest.
There’ll also be a section for bands/djs/performers/poets to do open mic after meal – so come forward and you’ll be included in the programme. Live music so far : Adam Stearns and Roslyn Potter
OR £2 entry if you bring someone along
Pay at door!
