ThrowUp20.18 is a visual arts project devised by Highland Print Studio in consultation with the Camanachd Association, Shinty’s governing body. Four professional artists were commissioned and partnered with four clubs, resulting series of original artwork inspired by the culture and heritage of Scotland’s iconic indigenous sport of Shinty. The project was funded by Highland Culture Strategic Board’s ‘Highland Culture: Take Pride, Take Part’ programme.
The exhibition will be making its way over to one of the participating club locations, Fort William, where it will be exhibited at the Nevis Centre from Tuesday 10 September till Saturday 14 September 2019. It will once again be accompanied by a talk from the voice of Shinty, Hugh Dan MacLennan, on Friday 13 September at 7:30pm. He will be joined by special guest, Deek Cameron. You can find out more about this on the Nevis Centre website here – https://www.neviscentre.co.uk/events/shinty-memories-with-hugh-dan-maclennan
