It is often said that we are losing touch with nature, but we are surrounded by nature every day whether in the heart of the city or in the wilds of the countryside. Perhaps we just don’t pay enough attention.

Timefield weaves together stories of memory and forgetting, of nature and ageing and draws attention to the fragility of humanity as an integral part of nature. It is an exploration of the passage of time and its effect on the landscape of our bodies and our planet. This is a cross-art collaborative installation developed by five older artists and includes: projections of long exposure photographs showing the impact of time on the body, large scale painted wall-hangings that communicate the force of nature, and a soundscape that integrates spoken word and sound drawn from the natural world. This exhibition is part of Luminate Festival 2019.

This event is free. Please note that Timefield launches as part of Outskirts 2019 and will start at 3.30pm on Saturday 27th April.

A series of workshops inspired by the installation will run alongside the exhibition. Please see the Platform website – for more details.
