Upcycle Clothing with Screen-printed Designs Adults and Kids
10:00 on 19 May 2019
Studio Pavilion at House for an Art Lover
In our experimental inter-generational series of art classes, adults and young people are invited to attend art classes together to learn processes, create work, support and inspire one another and collaborate. The courses are designed at an adult teaching level with in depth skills and processes to create considered and professional pieces. Young people aged 8-16 are offered a reduced rate on the classes and are invited to take part with their parents or guardians, allowing them to participate in a more professional and focused class.
In this workshop we will explore the idea of sustainable fashion and learn how we can use stencil screen printing to create fun, unique designs for our clothing. Participants will be invited to bring along items of clothing or bags they wish to refresh with new designs. Through playful drawing and collage, participants will create designs, learn about the screen-printing process, learn how to turn their designs into stencils and learn creative ways of applying these to clothing.
