Visual Arts Manifesto Launch
00:00 on 11 December 2017
Join Scottish Contemporary Art Network (SCAN), Scottish Artists Union and Engage Scotland for the launch of a new Visual Arts Manifesto; directly informed and compiled from data, surveys and members’ consultations across the three organisations. The manifesto makes public our commitment to working together to champion the visual arts sector and to take action on the challenges exposed in the SAU annual members survey and the Visual Arts Review.
So much talk, so much surveying, so much opinion, so much knowledge, so many status updates, so much data. How do we capture this discourse and turn it into action?
We don’t just want another report. We have chosen the format of the manifesto as a political text that has clout beyond any mere document or proposal. This is an opportunity for us to present the manifesto and for you to provide feedback to help us form a plan and priorities around its directives. Come, tell us what you think, and contribute to the discussion on how to take this from a piece of writing to a directive for action
3-5pm: Manifesto launch and informal feedback workshop (drop in at any time)
5-8pm: Festive drinks, nibbles, networking, and merriment
