Post: AC3 – Lecturer in Creative Art Practice

Salary:  £ 46,047 to £ 51,805 per annum

Full time: 1 year Fixed term

 THE POST – Lecturer in Creative Art Practice

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a one-year, fixed term Lecturer to join the Art subject area within the Division of Arts & Media.

The successful candidate should have/be:

Relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent and significant creative industry experience.

  • Ideally qualified to PhD level (or working towards one).
  • The UWS New Media Art programme is focused broadly on contemporary and evolving visual arts practice, its production, distribution and impact; therefore you will have research, creative practice and teaching interests in some or all of the following:

Visual Arts production and / or business

2D/3D Animation, Illustration, Graphic Communications design, Interactive/Time based Art, Projection Art

The production and distribution of visual art content, such as exhibitions/digital content

Creative Art and Design entrepreneurship

Arts in the community

  • The ability to lead, write and coordinate modules and develop research projects
  • Practical experience gained within the creative industries and a network of industries contacts
  • A track record of research publications (in practice-based or text-based forms) and/or research funding success
  • OR creative practice / industries-based publications and/or arts and creative funding success
  • Experience of hybrid delivery of learning and teaching and of use of authentic/real-world assessment approaches
  • Commitment to delivering high quality teaching and supporting an outstanding student experience
  • Demonstrable commitment to advancing issues of equality, diversity and inclusion in the creative industries and/or education

You will join a dynamic team delivering a collaborative, contemporary, research-based student experience, contributing to our popular BA (Hons) New Media Art and MA Creative Media Practice programmes.

You will be primarily based at our modern, greenfield Ayr Campus, with its extensive studio facilities, but may have scheduled activities at our other campus locations.
