Collective Play Lead Artist
Closing date 15 May 2023
Applications for the Collective Play Lead Artist are now open! Deadline: Monday 15 May, 5pm.
We invite emerging artists and practitioners with an interest in child-led approaches to play, nature and the outdoors, and developing their practice through long-term collaborative practice to submit a proposal.
The Lead Artist will develop and deliver a year of Friday Play sessions (during term-time) and one Play Weekend, as part of our Collective Play programme for local families.
Due to the scale of the project and the requirement to be on site at Collective for weekly Friday Play sessions, this opportunity is open to artists living and working in Edinburgh. This allows us to reduce the environmental and financial impact of regular travel, and to offer an important opportunity for artists within the arts ecology of Edinburgh.
The selected artist will receive:
- £6750 artist fee
- £3000 materials budget (held by Collective)
- Professional documentation of select workshops throughout the year
- A full Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) disclosure check
- Baby and Child First Aid Training
- Access to the PAM Wellbeing Employee Assistance Package: an independent service available to all employees at Collective offering free and confidential health and wellbeing support.
Applications will be considered by a panel of selectors consisting of Max Alexander (Playworker, Artist, Writer and Inclusive Play Advocate), and Tessa Lynch (Artist).
