Creative Practice speakers for one day event Jan 17th 2024
Closing date 14 January 2024
The University of the West of Scotland’s #FutureJobs2024 is our student’s chance to meet people that work in the creative industries. They’ll be talking about what they do, how they got their jobs and giving advice on how best to impress prospective employers.
On Wednesday 17th January, the UWS Division of Arts and Media will host our annual Creative Media Academy #FutureJobs sessions, where students have the opportunity to learn direct from representatives of myriad creative industries organisations.
We are looking for 3 speakers to do a short presentation to our New Media Art students in the afternoon and talk about their work in the creative industries, whether it be in the fields of contemporary art, design, illustration, new media, gallery management or associated disciplines. Speakers will be paid £100 plus their travel expenses.
Previously we have enjoyed hearing from senior representatives of organisations such as BBC Scotland, STV and the National Theatre of Scotland, as well as numerous professionals working in an independent or freelance capacity across a variety of industry fields. We look forward to hearing from an exciting group of professionals from across our sector this time around.
