Hours: 4 days/28 hours per week
Salary: £23,000 (pro rata)
GSS is a leading center for contemporary sculptural practice. Our production facilities include metalwork, woodwork, ceramics, casting and spray, and we provide both digital technology and more traditional workshop machinery and processes to enable our artists members to generate art works. We also support a range of community projects through our Learning & Engagement Programme that supports a wider range of users to experience and benefit from creative practice. In addition, GSS provides a Fabrication Service which generates important income to support our charitable purpose and we work with a range of artists and designers to fabricate bespoke, creative projects. Our small, dedicated Technical Team delivers the day-to-day running of GSS production facilities to ensure safe access for our users and to provide technical advice and support. This team also supports our artists residency programmes and projects generated through our Learning & Engagement programme.

Principal Aims of the Post:
- Upkeep of GSS Production Facilities to ensure our workshops (wood, metal, plaster, ceramics, digital, spray) and equipment are well maintained, meeting health and safety standards.
- Facilitating access to Production Facilities by providing basic induction training, technical advice and support, and supervising use of facilities on a daily basis, to enable GSS artist members and other users to work independently.
- Delivery of fabrication projects across a range of techniques including casting, digital machining, metal and woodworking, ensuring a high standard of workmanship and attention to detail.
