Fife Contemporary 2026 Exhibition: Call for Proposals

Closing date 15 July 2025

‘The Artist’s Voice in the Permacrisis’ (Working title)

In 2026 Fife Contemporary will have been working across Fife for 20 years – producing exhibitions, programmes and projects connecting Fife audiences with visual art and craft. Across that 20-year period our programmes have frequently fore-fronted our changing environment and supported artists from across Scotland to consider and reflect environmental concerns through practice and in exhibitions; as well as expanding the wider social, political and environmental contexts within which artists make and show their work.

In March 2026 Fife Contemporary will be producing a new exhibition running over a year at two venues across Fife. In this exhibition we want to look back at some of our own significant programmes addressing the climate crisis and also look forward to life in our ever-changing world. The exhibition will explore how artists are dealing with uncertainty and are finding a place to respond; from developing sites of reassurance and security to creating radical resistance.
