Closing date 24 May 2021

In particular, we are keen to support a frank and open dialogue around:
- Institutional critique
- Provision for artists’ moving image in Glasgow / Scotland / the UK
- Access and inclusion
- Gentrification
–
Fixed term freelance contract until Dec 2021
Fee: £2,646 (equivalent to 9 days work over 7-month period, SAU day rates)
Objectives:
Glasgow Artists’ Moving Image Studios SCIO was set up to develop dedicated screening facilities, workspaces and professional/educational development for artists working in moving image and other time-based practices. We are inviting a group of participants to collaborate with us on a research project we are developing in response to initial proposals for the redevelopment of Govanhill Picture House.
Supported by grant funding from Creative Scotland, the Working Group project aims to create a meaningful opportunity for both local residents and the broader arts community to respond to these proposals and contribute to the shaping of GAMIS as an organisation. This will be carried out through a series of online public talks followed by focused workshops and an opportunity to contribute to our future programming and organisational activities.
We are posing the questions, “what barriers to inclusion are there within the arts?” and, importantly, “how do we, as a newly formed organisation, build inclusion into the fabric of our programming methodologies?”
