Join Wasps’ Board of Trustees: For Wasps-based artists
Closing date 14 February 2025
We are looking for a current Wasps tenant with an active arts practice to join our Board. The opportunity is also open to those sharing a studio as a sub-let or a collective member who do not have a direct contractual relationship with Wasps but expect their use of their Wasps studio to continue for the foreseeable future.
The ideal candidate is someone that has direct personal experience of the challenges and opportunities of being a practicing artist in Scotland and who can also recognise the external sectoral challenges facing Wasps and provide their unique insight towards supporting the long-term stability and sustainability of the charity, so that it can continue to provide spaces long into the future. The ideal candidate will be able to act in the best interests of the charity as a whole, considering the bigger picture of the people and practices we support across the country.
In exchange, you will gain valuable experience of being a Trustee for a charity with significant reach and impact, and make connections with industry leaders across sectors who are all united by a desire to support the arts in Scotland. We will provide you with our Trustee Handbook, a single point of contact for any questions, and provide independent third-party training to ensure that you can make the most of your time on our Board.
Trustees are unremunerated (voluntary, unpaid). Reasonable travel expenses will be provided, or we can pre-book travel on your behalf.
