Lead Artist(s): Queering the Clachan

Forgan Arts Centre is recruiting a Lead Artist(s) for a new project titled Queering the Clachan. This position is suitable for someone with a strong interest in LGBTQIA+ advocacy and community engagement through creativity.
This role is generously supported by the Communities Mental Health & Wellbeing Fund distributed by Fife Voluntary Action.
Project Description
Queering the Clachan aims to improve the mental health and wellbeing of LGBTQIA+ people in North East Fife through creativity, collectivity, and building allyship across our rural communities. This project is for LGBTQIA+ people and their friends, family, neighbours, and the broader community. Through building a culture of acceptance and support we create the conditions for LGBTQIA+ to live authentically reducing discrimination and ensuring a shared understanding of the distinct issues affecting queer people living rurally.
This is a bold and ambitious project that requires confident leadership from an experienced artist.

- Deadline: Sunday 2 March, midnight
- Interviews: Tuesday 18 March, 9am-6pm
Key Details
- Status: This is a self-employed/freelance position.
- Fee: The total fee is £20,000. This is a fixed flat fee, whether you apply as a group or individual.
- Duration: 12 months, April 2025-March 2026.
- Location: Due to the place-based nature of this project all activity will be in North East Fife.
- Budget: This position includes a project budget of £15,000 for which the Lead Artist will be responsible.
