About Strange Field
Strange Field is a registered Scottish Charity, working within the East End of Glasgow since 2012. Strange Field provides opportunities for creative experimentation, learning, and development, with a focus on underrepresented and early-stage career artists, and our local community, at both French Street and The Pipe Factory in Glasgow’s East End.
Strange Field deliver a curated programme of exhibitions, events, residencies, and workshops, that centre strategic priorities. The organisation also run artist studios and an Open Source Programme allowing artists and the local community to access the spaces for their own events and projects.
Strange Field operates a flat pay scale (equivalent to £17 p/h) across its organisation, meaning all staff receive the same rate of pay, in recognition of the equally important different forms of labour that go into running an organisation and belief that one person’s hours are no more valuable than another’s.
