Open Call: Artist in Residence Programme 2024
Closing date 4 December 2023
Print Clan CIC are delighted to announce an open call for our new Artists in Residence Programme, running throughout 2024. Thanks to generous funding by the National Lottery through Creative Scotland we are looking for four Scotland-based artists (3 x mid-career artists and 1 early-career artist) to undertake a fully-funded four week residency. Each residency will culminate with the delivery of one public output of their choice and a half-day workshop.
We’re interested in artists using the residency to explore one or a combination of the following themes:
- Eco consciousness and sustainability
- Repeat pattern and/or reproduction
- Surface, form and colour
We particularly welcome applications from artists with disabilities, artists from black, Asian or ethnic minority communities; LGBTQIA+ artists; and those who have faced socio-economic disadvantages through their circumstances or upbringing. You do not need to have any formal art education or textile screen printing experience to apply, but an interest in screen printing, natural dyes or eco-printing techniques would be beneficial.
Artists will receive payment for the four weeks at Scottish Artists Union residency rates, a dedicated materials budget, and an additional £38ph for the Print Club workshop. There is also a budget for access needs.
