Open call: Room to Fail (Culture Collective Residency)
Closing date 1 August 2021
As part of the Culture Collective programme, Deveron Projects is inviting artists based in Scotland to work with us from 2021-23 through three open calls: Room to Fail; Room to Grow; Room to do anything you like (released soon). The Culture Collective is a network of creative practitioners, organisations and communities, working together to create a positive difference both locally and nationally.
For this call, we’re looking for artists based in Scotland to work with us over the next 18 months to explore themes of governance, de/re-growth, care and prosperity in the visual arts sector, using Deveron Projects as a point of reference and an opportunity to test new ideas.
The artists selected will develop a programme of varied outcomes in collaboration with the team and other contributors. The artist(s) should have a keen interest in socially engaged art and community engaged arts practice.
Deadline for expressions of interest: 1 August 2021
Deadline for applications: 22 August 2021
Eligibility: Artists must be based in Scotland and outside of full-time education
Fee: £18,380
The fee is equivalent to six months, full-time, at Scottish Artist Union Rates for 5+ years experience.
We welcome proposals for how to spend that time over an 18-month period (preferably starting in October 2021)
Production budget: Up to £10,000 (in agreement with Deveron Projects)
Other resources: Accommodation will be provided in kind for residents and collaborators.
