Kickstart Scheme is a 6 month paid job funded by the Government.
The Front of House Assistant will supervise the smooth and effective running of Stills’ visitor reception area and shop. Welcoming visitors and overseeing customer enquiries, providing administrative support for Stills’ staff and undertaking day-to-day reception duties.
Key duties will include:
- -Fielding enquiries from the general public, in person, vie email, and via telephoneFielding enquiries from the general public, in person, vie email, and via telephone
- -Greeting visitors to the building and providing them with further directions and information
- -Overseeing shop sales during public opening hours
- -Maintaining Stills’ customer database by inputting new data and updating records as required
- -Providing invigilation support for exhibitions
- -Attending weekly staff meetings and providing occasional administrative support for Stills’ staff.
Full training will be provided
Essential skills, experience and qualifications:
This role is suited to someone with the following abilities and qualities:
- A genuine interest in Photography and/or Art
- Customer service experience and/or experience of working in the retail sector
- Ability to work to ones own initiative as well as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- PC and Mac literacy
Additional Employability Support
As well as receiving support towards job searches and ongoing CV training, through advice and access to relevant job sites and support with interview preparation, the Front of House Assistant will have regular meetings with their supervisor to discuss their individual employability needs.
Also in working with SCVO, our Kickstart Gateway the employee will have access to a further package of support that will include; access to a Kickstart employee forums, additional training sessions employability Award, wellbeing, finance etc., and access to a dedicated Open University portal with various courses.
