Trustees
Closing date 1 July 2024
Collective’s skilled and engaged Board of Trustees is now looking to recruit:
- A Trustee who is a practising artist; and
- A Trustee with financial expertise.
Collective is committed to inclusivity and diversity across all areas of our work, and we are particularly keen to hear from candidates who are currently under-represented in the arts and in our organisation. We believe that Board Trustees with different backgrounds and experience will encourage debate, support good decision making and strengthen the leadership of our organisation.
Trustee who is a practising artist
We are seeking an artist with an established profile and set of networks across the contemporary art community, and experience of working in local, national and international contexts, to support Collective’s artistic programme and broaden engagement with audiences. You will ideally be based in Scotland or have strong connections to Scotland and a good understanding of the context in which we operate.
Trustee with financial expertise
We are also looking to recruit a new trustee with financial expertise, to provide support on the accounting, compliance and commercial aspects of running a charity.
We are seeking candidates who will be active Board members and contribute to Collective’s success and sustainability, through:
- development of Collective’s strategy, activities and operations; and
- widening our profile and extending the engagement of visitors to our iconic site and contemporary art
New Board members can expect
- To gain leadership skills and take part in governance procedures;
- To gain insight into how Collective, a charitable organisation, is run;
- An opportunity to widen their network; and
- Strategy Days with other board members and staff.
Board members are expected to attend meetings and events, participate in sub-committee(s), advocate for Collective, support fundraising and support staff. There will be a minimum of four scheduled Board meetings a year.
