ESW Youth Bursary Programme

Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop is looking for enthusiastic young artists aged 18-24 to undertake our Youth Bursary Programme. The programme offers four Edinburgh based individuals who want to become artists the opportunity to do this through a programme of nurture, training and support to help them achieve this. 

The programme will run for 10 months from April 2022. It has been designed to help you to develop your skills, to develop your ideas and to connect with a community of fellow artists 

As a Youth Bursary recipient you will receive: 

• A studio with 24 hr access for 9 months from April 2022. 

• £3000 bursary to support the development of your work and enable you to commit time to that development. 

• Access to workshops and training in material processes.

• Mentorship from ESW programme staff 

• 3 studio visits from artists, curators and industry professionals for each participant 

• Networking opportunities to grow your connectivity with your peers locally and nationally 

• Facilitated trips to exhibitions across Scotland and one trip to a biennial. 

• An end of project public presentation that is tailored to your work. 

Studios and Time Commitment

There will be 1 day of structured programming per week for the 36 weeks of the Bursary.

The Studio will be accessible 24hrs a day, 7 days a week for the 9 months of studio time. This means that you can plan your time around the rest of your life commitments.
