I am an artist with a long held interest in working with audience and exploring ideas around connectivity and shared (mis)understanding.
I am keen to connect with curators and artists who share my interests for collaborations and conversations with a view to taking our work into the public sphere.
I am based in Edinburgh (Rhubaba) and am pursuing a PhD at Chelsea school of art (UAL). The research involves running an experimental commissioning agency for residencies (ReAgency). I’d be interested in hearing from artists who might like to be involved in that project.
I trained originally at Brighton University as a painter, graduating in 1992 and going on to work for a number of years at the City College on their Foundation Course. In 2007 I attended the Tihany Post Graduate Programme run in partnership between Goldsmiths and the Budapest Academy of Fine Art in Hungary.
I graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2014 with a postgraduate Master of Fine Art degree in Contemporary Fine Art Practice, awarded with distinction.
I currently work as a senior tutor within the Open college of the UCA and I am a fellow of the HEA. In my teaching I am particularly interested in developing sustainability within a student’s practice by focusing on their own developing aspirations. I also have an interest in alternative delivery; using video and the internet to provide students with learning materials which are not text based and encouraging peer to peer connections.Recent shows include: Edinburgh Art Festival, Edinburgh; Assembly Gallery, Leeds; Glasgow Museums Resource Centre, Glasgow; the Embassy Gallery, Edinburgh and Angus Luborimov, London.
Please do look at my website and subscribe to my newsletter if you like my work and would like to be kept informed of any shows or projects.
