Ruth Bretherick is Curator of Research and Interpretation at The Fruitmarket Gallery, Edinburgh, where she has worked since November 2016. Her role encompasses writing and coordinating exhibition interpretation; programming talks and events; maintaining relationships with Higher Education Institutions and managing the Gallery’s library and archive.
She has a PhD in History of Art from the University of Edinburgh, and has published in MIRAJ (Moving Image Review & Arts Journal), Tate Papers and The Sculpture Journal. She has worked for the University of Edinburgh, the ARTIST ROOMS Research Partnership and the National Galleries of Scotland among other organisations.
