Timothy M. Collins, PhD, MFA, BFA
Tim Collins is a principal with Reiko Goto in the Collins & Goto Studio, Glasgow. They are interested in the ways that art and imagination contribute to practical wisdom and democratic discourse about changing places and human values. They are known for artwork that addresses the relationship between body, mind and place, attending to the relationships between individuals, communities and their environment. They work across art, science and philosophy using a range of media, tools and technologies to accomplish their creative goals. Recent work focuses on the experience and meaning of ancient semi-natural forests in Scotland, where instrumental value and its optimization have run the full range of options, and social and cultural value appears to be dormant.
