About
The Museum of Loss and Renewal is a roaming art practice nurtured by Tracy Mackenna & Edwin Janssen. It offers space, time and contexts for making and sharing, with a focus on the challenges we face in our individual and social lives.
Merging production, education and research The Museum of Loss and Renewal manifests itself in multiple forms such as exhibitions, public studios, screenings and publications. These activities often incorporate interdisciplinary public gatherings. The museum also runs a residency programme in Collemacchia, a small familial village within Italy’s National Park of Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise.
The curators of this autarchic museum, Tracy Mackenna & Edwin Janssen, develop in collaboration with others art projects that address issues of societal concern such as well-being, end of life and sustainability. Key questions evolve around ecology, social relationships, the way places are inhabited and how personal objects reflect who we are. The Museum of Loss and Renewal is a creative vehicle that enables the consideration of the essential relationship between Place, People and Time.
